How To Prepare for my Eyeliner Tattoo & Aftercare

What is eyeliner tattoo?

The procedure involves using a tattoo machine and needle to implant pigment into the skin, creating a long-lasting, natural-looking line that can enhance the shape of your eyes and make them appear more open and awake. Think of it as a time-saving solution for your daily make-up routine, with eyeliner tattooing, you'll wake up every morning with perfectly lined eyes, no more smudging or smearing

How to prep for your eyeliner appointment:

30-14 days before the appointment:

  1. Make an appointment to remove your lash extensions.

  2. Discontinue the use of any eyelash growth serums immediately.

  3. Apply a hydrating eye cream daily leading up to your appointment

  4. Please discontinue the use of blood thinners before your appointment. This includes ibuprofen and or fish oils. (unless medications are prescribed by a doctor)

Day of appointment:

  1. Come prepared with examples of eyeliner pictures you like.

  2. If you don’t know what you want we can always recommend a style of liner for you during the consultation portion your appointment.

  3. Eat before coming to the appointment as the appointment can take up to 4 hours.

  4. Take a Tylenol if you are not good with pain.

  5. Your eyes may be slightly swollen and tender.


Things to keep in mind:

  1. 50% of clients are not good candidates for winged liner. We will recommend the best eyeliner shape that will be best suited for your eyes.

  2. We offer dark brown or black eyeliner colors.

  3. For the most natural result do not recommend thick and exaggerated liner styles as it does not age well.

  4. Liner can last up 10 years and without touchups can fade slightly gray.

  5. You will come back for a follow up appointment after 30 days. We can adjust the thickness during the second appointment.

  6. Numbing is offered after the first pass is complete.


You may NOT be a candidate for tattooing if you answer YES to any of the following:

Within the last 30 days:

- Radiotherapy

- Chemotherapy

- Laser eye surgery

- Facelifts

- Pregnant or breastfeeding

- Taking Accutane medication

- Laser or Saline tattoo removal

- Undergone a major surgery

- Undergone an intensive skin resurfacing facial

- If you have a previous Eyeliner Tattoo we must approve first before booking.


Aftercare

  1. First 6 hours your eyes will be slightly swollen. Applying a cold compress can help reduce swelling and ease any discomfort.

  2. Apply a thin layer of A&D ointment on the brow bone 2x a day. The ointment will slowly trickle down into the liner.

  3. Swelling is normal for the next two days after the appointment.

  4. Use the ointment for 7 days.

  5. Avoid all eye makeup for 14 days.

  6. No sweating for 3 days, No tanning for 7 days.

  7. Scabbing is normal and you will start to noticing the scabbing happening at around 5-7 days. Do not pick or peel the scabs as it can lead to patchy healed results. Let the scabs fall off naturally and continue to use the ointment for hydration.
